Local newspaper the Lanark Gazette became the first one to tell the world about our plans for world domination:
"It is part of a wider plan to market the area as a year-round sports resort"
The BBC became the first national media outlet to break the news to a larger audience:
That was followed by The Times, Herald Scotland, Scotsman, Daily Record, Evening Times, and other Scottish press outlets:
"Zermatt may not yet be quaking in its ski boots"
We particularly enjoyed one of the two pieces which The Herald published about Lowther Hills:
ITV thought Lowther Hill could rival Aspen and Val d'Isere:
And then Lowther Hills also started appearing on TV:
Every single snowsports magazine in the UK (we counted at least seven of them) celebrated the birth of the 6th ski resort in Scotland:
And Lowther Hills became the pride of the South:
"A new tourist attraction for the South". "The first step in developing new tourism opportunities in the region"...
And we went international:
The Met Office discovered that Leadhills is number 6 in snowiest places in UK and the BBC rushed to report that "snow sports fans have enjoyed their first day of the season in the south of Scotland".
And on a more serious note, Lowther Hills took the spotlight in a well-researched, interesting reflection about Scottish skiing by Roger Cox on Scotland on Sunday. "Finally, the Lowther Hills are poised to become a permanent part of the Scottish ski scene".
